The Public Policy Network (PPN) is a civic organization that monitors state and national policy proposals that affect individuals and our communities. We are an all-volunteer group that provides data, information and resources to enable the citizens of western North Carolina and north Georgia to make informed decisions about policies that affect them.

We welcome participation in our informational forums, special events and monthly PPN meetings.

WHAT CAN I DO?

There are numerous ways that citizens can become informed and involved in decisions made by their government.

Affording Good Health

The Value of Medicaid Expansion

-Presented by-

Alyssa Green, the Outreach & Education Manager of Georgians for A Healthy Future AND Alexandria Douglas-Bartolone, MPA

The statistics are sobering: approximately 15% of Clay County, NC, residents under 65 are uninsured; in Union County, GA, over 1300 residents are uninsured even though employed; in Towns County, GA, over 800 people work but do not have insurance. These uninsured workers may be on the job sixty hours a week, but many are still only one medical emergency away from homelessness. How can we help ourselves and our neighbors afford good health? For answers, please join the PPN forum on Sunday, November 3, 2019. For directions to the event, click the link below.

Hinton Center
